Are adjustments made for babies born prematurely?

There are no automatic adjustments made for babies born before their expected due date, and in general, we do not recommend adjusting a child's birthdate to reflect the 'expected' due date (e.g., changed from the actual birthday of 3/1/2006 to the expected birthday of 4/1/2006). Certainly, individual programs can make their own decisions about whether or not to adjust birthdays. However, depending on how much the birthday is adjusted , the data may not be an accurate reflection of the child's development.

This can be a complicated issue, so if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
